Plaster Rock (2006 population: 1,150) is a Canadian village in Victoria County, New Brunswick.

Located on the Tobique River, the village was founded in 1881 by Hezekiah Day and named for the gypsum found in the area, which is heated to produce plaster.The cliffs across the river from the Tobique Valley High School expose the red "plaster rock". The major industry in Plaster Rock is a sawmill owned by Twin Rivers Paper Company.

Plaster Rock is best known across Canada for hosting the annual World Pond Hockey Championships.

Plaster Rock is a small village located on the beautiful Tobique River, in Victoria Co. New Brunswick. Primarily English, the town is historically a lumber logging community. Known as the Gateway to Mt.Carleton Provincial Park, the community is the source of business, commerce, banking, grocery shopping, and religious and sport gatherings for the surrounding hamlets and homes of the Tobique River region. The Tobique River, which has its source at Mt. Carleton Provincial Park, flows through the tiny communities of Nictau, Riley Brook, and Oxbow,Plaster Rock, Arthurette, Red Rapids, and empties into the St. John River above Perth-Andover. The Tobique First Nations Reserve is located where the Tobique and St. John Rivers come together. The town has 6 churches, namely a Catholic Church, an Anglican Church, a Free-will Baptist Church, a United Baptist Church, a United Church of Canada, and a Pentecostal Church. The average congregation is 20-45 members of the first 5 churches, with the Pentecost church being an exception with a congregation of approx. 400 members, who are in part from the village of PR, but mostly from the surrounding region of Victoria Co. The Pentecost Church also has its own private school, the only other school in the village aside from the village`s Public Junior and High Schools. The Family Worship Centre, the name of the Pentecostal sect, has been the site of controversary since it first established roots nearly 90 years ago. In June, Fiddler`s on The Tobique is a large event attracting tourists and visitors from all over the world as they put approx. 1300 canoes into the waters and float accompanied by Fiddler`s and their jolly Maritime Music. The Appalachian Trail from Florida to Nfld is nearby and goes through Mt. Carleton Provincial Park. There is only 1 motel, Settler`s Inn, a down-home hospitality which has been welcoming visitors since the 1990`s. There are no hostels in this region, but there is a campground within the villages Municipal Park at Roulston Lake. Plaster Rock seen its glory years with the rise and fall of the Wood Harvesting industry. Today there is opportunity for new industry, new ideas, and plenty of space to grow in ways the town has not advanced before historically. Not just a retirement town, but a place where new and young families can raise their children in peace with the Great Wilderness of New Brunswick at your door. Outdoor enthusiasts will find canoeing, kayaking, and snowmobiling and hockey among the first of the best sports. Hunting and fishing is common still today, and in the Spring and Fall this brings many enthusiasts from out of the region. The best part of Plaster Rock, aside from its friendly people and welcoming atmosphere, is the Tobique River, a beautiful body of water flowing through ancient Appalachian Hills, and is not to be missed during the Fiddlehead Festival in May, or the celebration of colors that come in September and October.
